Andrey Kovalenko

My painting is a story that goes from my heart to the heart of the viewer.

Born 20 April 1976 in Odessa, in the family of artists Yuri Kovalenko and Svetlana Kovalenko-Shvedova. In 1991 he entered the painting and pedagogical department of the Odessa State Art School named after M.B. Grekov. In 1996, a few months before the defence of his diploma, held his first personal exhibition in the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists of Ukraine.

In 2008 he joined the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Leads a fruitful creative life, takes part in creative plein airs, group exhibitions. Since 2007, almost annually organises personal exhibitions in Odessa, Kiev, as well as abroad. Since 2012 he has been working on urban themes, painting landscapes of old Odessa, genre scenes, Odessa courtyards, as well as the sea and the port. and port.

With the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine with his wife and three young daughters leaves for Poland, where he continues active creative work. А. Kovalenko writes many canvases, drawing inspiration from the cameral towns of southern Poland, landscapes of the Beskid mountains. There are a number of exhibitions in the city of Tarnów.

Works are in the Odessa Art Museum, Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art, Museum of Modern Art of Odessa, Kiev House-Museum of I. Kavaleridze, Kanev Art Museum named after T.H. Shevchenko, Prilutsk Local History Museum named after V.I. Maslov, Museum of Contemporary Art of Odessa. V.I. Maslov Local History Museum, Vinnytsia Local History Museum, as well as in private collections in Ukraine and around the world.
